Jade & Andrew – engaged.

Sunday, March 20th, 2011

I’m so excited for Jade & Andrew’s wedding on the 17th of September this year at Raffertys Resort located at Cam Wharf a few hours north of Sydney. I really really enjoy weddings where it all happens in the same location and this will be one of those!

I love Chocolate, and I make no secret of it. I even proposed to Cath in our favourite chocolate shop. so, it always interests me what kind of chocolate people love. Andrew is a cadbury fruit and nut fan. While Jade is mad for chocolate coated sultanas, freddo frogs and forerro rocher’s. Jade says that freddo frogs remind her of her Pop who used to hide them in the cupboard at his place. When I met up with Jade last night, I noticed 2 freddos sitting on the kitchen bench. :-)

Andrew & Jade met 4 1/2 years ago. Andrew & Jade met on their first date over coffee. Neither of them actually drink coffee. So, they had beer and bread instead. Jade was worried that she left him with the wrong impression when she rushed off early to go to a step class at the gym. Now, they’re engaged!

Jade & Andrew, you guys were super brave in that crazy weather that we experienced in your engagement shoot! Let’s hope the weather on your wedding day is better than this poor couple. Check out this video! Track pants, really?

Love Looks Like: Chris & Gemma.

Thursday, March 17th, 2011

I really can’t wait to photograph Chris & Gemma’s wedding next month. I just simply enjoy hanging out with these guys. After Chris & Gemma saw my wedding film they ended up hiring Josh Lamont to do their Wedding Film as well. It seems most of my clients are hiring him now! I’m also very excited to be working with him again!

Chris is a travel agent and organised our honeymoon for us. I can’t recommend him enough for all your travel plans too! Call Travelworld Tamworth 1300 799 987 and ask for Chris!

This year is panning out to be very busy and there will be an extra special announcement on the 1st of May! Just letting you know in advance!

For now, enjoy these beautiful images that we created together in Sydney a few weeks back.

experience

In this life, I’ve experienced some remarkable things.

I sat with my father the night before his death and held his hand and told him I loved him.

I watched my father take his last breath.

I’ve had my heart torn to shreds by people whom I love.

I’ve seen my fiancee walk down the aisle, only to leave as my wife.

And one day, I experienced this.

Before this image was created, I was talking with the wonderful man on the right of the image and he told me that there were things that he had never told his fiancee about how he felt about her and that now was the time. He poured his heart out to her. She then held him in a way that brought me to tears.

I’m so glad I experienced this.

To be honest, last year was a really tough year for my business. I moved to the big city where nobody knew me. It was a real struggle for me and my family back in Armidale worrying about me. But then, my friends got behind me. I’ve been truly blessed to have some raving fans out there who have been shouting my name from the rooftops and sending people my way, but to be honest, I could do with a bit more of a hand, i’ll explain why in a moment. In a city where there are thousands of photographers, until people see my work, I truly may as well not exist. Once people see my work, most of them book me. I think it’s because of my utter passion for creating an unrivalled experience, images with passion and for pushing the boundaries. I’m sick and tired of the every day, boring imagery that I see. It’s time to push, it’s time to shove.. and i’m breaking out and I want to take you with me. I have enough bookings for this year to pay the bills already. So, why do I want more bookings? Because I want to play. I love this thing that I could mistakenly call my job. I fall in love with the people I meet, and I love creating images that show the love that is inside of them, and inside of me, for them. I truly appreciate and value every single person that entrusts me with photographing them, it’s a precious gift which they give me. I can’t thank them enough.

Last night, I got an incredible opportunity to photograph these two awesome souls who have broken out with me.

Know someone who is getting married? Why not send them to my site to see what I love doing. Do you have facebook or twitter? Why not share what I do with your friends. I’d really appreciate it, and they might also :-)

After taking this image, I return to the car and see a small note under the dash.
“Dear Sir, would you please do the polite thing and call before you photograph here”

I won’t be back. I rarely am. I like to explore.

I don’t pre plan many things at all. I like going with the flow. I like just turning up. I like photographing with no agenda.

This image however has been in my head for many many years and I can finally show you a glimpse of what this expression of Love Looks Like in my brain.

Thank you to Lauren & Dimitri for being my canvas.

Love Looks Like – (Elyse & Scott)

Tuesday, October 5th, 2010

Elyse & Scott found me online, thinking I was still in Armidale and asked me to photograph their wedding in Armidale. Turns out, we both live in Sydney these days. It meant catching up was a breeze and it also meant that an engagement shoot was going to be simple to organise. We met up and found out that we have lots in common. For starters, we’re both having weddings in Armidale, at the guy’s families house out of town with a similar theme. We’ve been sharing lots of ideas back and forth.

Scott was about to head overseas to serve in the armed forces, so we knew we needed to do their engagement shoot before he left, so they both had some gorgeous photos to help get them through 4 1/2 months apart!

Here is what we came up with :-)

I’m sharing with you the whole shoot… don’t say I’m not a good sharer.

Now you’ve enjoyed the photos, do me a favour and click on the like button below and also leave us a comment. Thank you so so so much. If you’re feeling really generous, why not change your status to direct people to look at my blog? Now that would rock.

Nick & Kacey (love looks like)

Tuesday, September 14th, 2010

Canada Dry, Kiprusoff, Earl’s, Perry, The Shandro’s, Rob & Lauren, Jesh, Bruce…. the list goes on of all the things I’m reminded that I miss when spending time with Canadians. Nick & Kacey are married, in Love and saw the need to have some gorgeous photos taken. I love photographing people in Love for no other reason but to celebrate their love.
