Jade & Andrew – engaged.

Posted by James Day
March 20th, 2011

I’m so excited for Jade & Andrew’s wedding on the 17th of September this year at Raffertys Resort located at Cam Wharf a few hours north of Sydney. I really really enjoy weddings where it all happens in the same location and this will be one of those!

I love Chocolate, and I make no secret of it. I even proposed to Cath in our favourite chocolate shop. so, it always interests me what kind of chocolate people love. Andrew is a cadbury fruit and nut fan. While Jade is mad for chocolate coated sultanas, freddo frogs and forerro rocher’s. Jade says that freddo frogs remind her of her Pop who used to hide them in the cupboard at his place. When I met up with Jade last night, I noticed 2 freddos sitting on the kitchen bench. :-)

Andrew & Jade met 4 1/2 years ago. Andrew & Jade met on their first date over coffee. Neither of them actually drink coffee. So, they had beer and bread instead. Jade was worried that she left him with the wrong impression when she rushed off early to go to a step class at the gym. Now, they’re engaged!

Jade & Andrew, you guys were super brave in that crazy weather that we experienced in your engagement shoot! Let’s hope the weather on your wedding day is better than this poor couple. Check out this video! Track pants, really?

  1. Lydia Says:

Love the one with the giant mossy clump to the left! Beautiful green. Congrats guys!

  2. Toni Jordan Says:

What a beautiful storyboard this is JD! I love the first few photos especially. That video is horrible! I’m so glad I had great weather and I’m glad I didn’t get dunked while lying on the sand lol

  3. Julian Beattie Says:

Some nice images in here, James! Super well done on the post in these :-)

I really can’t wait to photograph Chris & Gemma’s wedding next month. I just simply enjoy hanging out with these guys. After Chris & Gemma saw my wedding film they ended up hiring Josh Lamont to do their Wedding Film as well. It seems most of my clients are hiring him now! I’m also very excited to be working with him again!

Chris is a travel agent and organised our honeymoon for us. I can’t recommend him enough for all your travel plans too! Call Travelworld Tamworth 1300 799 987 and ask for Chris!

This year is panning out to be very busy and there will be an extra special announcement on the 1st of May! Just letting you know in advance!

Rachael Finch / Australia’s Top Photographers Nomination

Posted by James Day
March 9th, 2011

It’s been a crazy couple of weeks. I’ve photographed a few awesome things and booked in lots of weddings for wonderful people! I’ve been seriously sick with the flu but am slowly recovering.

Also, I’ve been nominated to be in the running for the Australia’s Top Photographers 2011 in the wedding category. That’s cool, but most importantly… my mum thinks i’m awesome!

A few days ago I photographed an event for Rachael Finch. Rachael has been international model since the age of 17 and in 2009 won the Miss Universe Australia title. Since then she has been a consistent face on tv! She made it to the grand final of MasterChef & was a contestant on Dancing with the Stars!

Recently Rachael (and her partner Michael Miziner) opened a dance studio named Dance Planet in the centre of Sydney.

Rachael and Michael are currently holding a fundraiser for the Queensland Flood Victims where you can dance with the celebrities from Dancing with the Stars for just $25 per lesson. Their goal is to raise $25000 for this event. On monday night I had the pleasure of photographing the first night of this fundraiser for Rachael. As you’ll see in the photos, everyone was having such a great time. It was awesome to see Rob Palmer, George Havardous and James Tobin at the event dancing away too!

You can see all the pictures here: DANCE FOR CHARITY – WITH THE STARS – PHOTOS.

I can’t recommend this enough! Do yourself a favour and get along!
Here are some pics :-)

Remember, sign up for this! It looked like so much fun and the money is going to such a great cause!

Overseas Travel – Tasmania

Posted by James Day
February 28th, 2011

Recently, Cath and I went on a trip to Tasmania to hang out with our friends Josh Lamont & Jonathan Wherrett.

It was great to learn the Tasmanian national anthem, see the Tasmanian National Flag and try some of their local food. Somehow they let me in to the country without a passport. I was amazed when most of the people I met spoke english too. It was such a relief!

Ok ok enough of the lame jokes already!

It seriously was a fun trip. Some highlights were as follows.
1. Driving around in the Red Porsche Boxster.
2. The pizza at a restaurant called Cargo in salamanca.
3. Spending time with Jono & Josh and their families.
4. Seeing our friends Stella & Kye.
5. Doing no work at all for a whole week!

If you know anyone who is getting married in Tasmania… please send them to me. I would absolutely love to shoot weddings in Tasmania!!!

experience

In this life, I’ve experienced some remarkable things.

I sat with my father the night before his death and held his hand and told him I loved him.

I watched my father take his last breath.

I’ve had my heart torn to shreds by people whom I love.

I’ve seen my fiancee walk down the aisle, only to leave as my wife.

And one day, I experienced this.

Before this image was created, I was talking with the wonderful man on the right of the image and he told me that there were things that he had never told his fiancee about how he felt about her and that now was the time. He poured his heart out to her. She then held him in a way that brought me to tears.

I’m so glad I experienced this.
